Academy Cine-Club
HKFA Cine-Club was established in 1990 to serve as a channel for the " Hong Kong Film Academy " students and alumni to meet regularly to share experience and skills in film/TV appreciation and production. Our activities include film screenings, seminars and short film productions. There are now over 4,000 active members, most of whom are graduates of the Academy.
In 2005, HKFA has reached a joint-venture agreement with Bigfoot Entertainment, a global entertainment and production enterprise based in Los Angeles . Bigfoot Entertainment (www.bf-e.com) has just finished shooting a Hollywood movie "Shanghai Kid" in Shanghai . In the coming year, Bigfoot Entertainment will invest in two other movies in Hong Kong and China . The production crews and the casts will include students of HKFA of Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
In the past years, we have conducted over 120 seminars and workshops for the local film/TV industry and educational institutions, and successfully organized a number of exchange visits with overseas film associations. We also co- organise independent short film festivals with foreign film institutions. Our alumni have won numerous distinctions and awards at international film festivals
